A family is renting a car, with children under 3 years old, do they need to use a child seat? I heard from a friend before that it is mandatory to use child seats for children in foreign countries, is this true ?

Yes, if there are children, be sure to use a child seat, otherwise you will be heavily fined. Child seats can be rented at stores or purchased at local supermarkets. I rented a car seat at the Charlotte Airport store before, and rented a child seat provided by the National car rental company for 7 days for 60 Canadian dollars, which felt quite expensive. Later, I went to the supermarket and found out that a similar child seat only cost 24 dollars.

If traveling with children, when renting a car, be sure to add a child safety seat, it seems that it is required for children under 12 years old.
