Can a friend who has rented a Grand Cherokee fit several large suitcases for shipping, the kind that are 26 or 28 inches in size, in the trunk ?

We rented a large Jeep in Melbourne Great Ocean Road last week. There is plenty of space in the trunk for four 28-inch suitcases, and there is still space for backpacks and bags next to it.
