I think it's about 10 to 20 euros per day, I can't remember exactly. Actually, you don't have to buy it. This only has legal effect when you have an accident, the police come to handle it, and it happens to be the other driver who is driving. We didn't buy it during our travels in France, Italy, and Spain, and we didn't have any accidents.

Become a member and rent directly from Hertz. The second driver is free. If you rent from Rent the Car, you still have to pay.
