Do you need all-wheel drive snow tires just to drive in Vancouver? Is it okay with a Corolla ?

You don't need snow tires to drive in Vancouver. I just came back from Whistler, and I didn't need snow tires even when it was snowing heavily. How much less do you need them in Vancouver without snow?

The car is fine, just be careful and it will be okay. The main reason why snow tires are popular in Canada is to save on insurance fees. Car insurance is too expensive here. So, adding snow tires is to get a discount on car insurance. In addition, it is recommended that you have four-wheel drive, which is very necessary. Because in some places with snow, two-wheel drive cars do tend to slip a bit. Whether or not to have snow tires is not so necessary.
