Does my child have to use a car seat at the age of 8 when we are travelling by car? Can he use a booster cushion instead, or is it okay if he doesn't use anything ?

My child is 5 years old and will bring an unbuckled safety seat. In foreign countries, children are required to have a safety seat, but it is not necessarily caught.

It is said that a booster seat can be used, but I haven't been to Canada yet. When we rented a car in Spain, the child sat on a booster seat, and the child was 4 years old at the time.

Supposedly booster seats are okay, but I haven't been to Canada yet. When we rented a car in Spain, that's what my child used, who was 4 at the time.
