If you want to return the same day, it will be too rushed, as there are often police officers ambushing on the side of the road, and it's not advisable to speed if you're not sure. It's usually better to go the day before and return the next day. In addition to other sights, you can watch a sunset in the evening and a sunrise in the morning, and then have a free breakfast at the hotel and take a shower before returning. My car is quite fast, and it takes about five hours to get there and back, and there's also the Hoover Dam to pass by on the way. You can go to the Hoover Dam first on the same day, and arrive at the Holiday Inn, which is a few kilometers outside the Grand Canyon gate, around 2 or 3 pm. Most of the guests at the hotel are middle-class Americans, and the prices are not expensive either, and the living environment is good. After checking in, you can drive into the Grand Canyon and first visit one side of the scenic spots, and choose a sunset viewing point. It's usually best between 4:30 and 5:00 pm, and you can play until it gets dark... The next morning, you can watch the sunrise, and it's best to stay for two days.

Hurry up, you will need a lot of time in the Grand Canyon, unless you just take a bus tour and look at it quickly. Anyway, you will come out later and it will be very tiring to come back to Las Vegas.
