Penang does not have expressways, only winding mountain roads along the northern coast that you should be cautious of when driving.

Friends going to Penang please refer to the correct advice of my Malaysian friend. I have personally experienced it. Use Uber when you are in Penang and start renting a car when you leave Penang for other places.
