I am driving overseas for the first time, let me briefly talk about my experience. I feel it's better to park in a parking lot, such as willson, although it's a bit expensive. But mainly in Auckland, I haven't spent much on parking in other places. For refueling, you can usually use VISA or master to pay at the gas station. Choose the right gasoline or diesel on the refueling machine, and then choose how much money to add or fill up. Some gas stations directly pay at the refueling machine, and some require you to go to the counter to report the refueling machine number, and then swipe the card or pay in cash. I encountered a situation of pre-authorization at the mobile gas station, swiping 150 New Zealand dollars, and it was said that the remaining money would be refunded later. I didn't pay attention to it, but according to the guide here, there are only three toll roads, all on the North Island, and I haven't traveled on any toll roads so far.
