Today from LAX to San Diego on the highway, the speed is quite fast. There's a small question: how do you know which exit to take on the highway to find things like rest stops and gas stations and restrooms, similar to what we have at home ?

Rest stops are purely for rest, with only toilets. There is basically a gas station at every exit, just at different distances. Also, look at the signs on the expressway for food, accommodation, etc.

Most of the exits have gas stations nearby, and these gas stations usually have convenience stores with some food options. However, many restrooms require a key or password from the staff to use. I remember there are no simple rest stops between here and San Diego.
