Do you have any friends who have been to Te Kapo stargazing ?

You must go around the first day of the lunar month. The closer you get to 15, the less you can see. Only on a clear day is it good to stargaze in Tekapo.
If there were no clouds, we would use a laser pointer to point at the stars and explain them to you. We sent you a thick down jacket. We went when there were clouds, and we took you to see scientists at work. Scientists looked very interesting, and they were a little disrespectful to us tourists, with an unwilling look on their faces as if they were saying when you finish watching, go back as soon as possible. It's also quite interesting.
You can stargaze very well next to the Good Shepherd Church, as long as the weather is good and it's not a full moon night. You don't necessarily have to go up to the observatory on the mountain. There is a fee, and it's cold and windy at the top of the mountain!
