How many people? If there are four of you, I recommend taking a taxi to the city center, which costs 38 euros. It seems to be 50 euros after midnight.

The airport shuttle bus over there is actually a public bus. There are many routes available. When you come out of the airport, you will see signs on the roadside corresponding to the bus numbers. For example, if your hotel is near the Acropolis, you can take bus line 95 and ride it to the last stop, which will get you pretty close! It costs 2 euros per person, and the buses run every 15 minutes. You can buy tickets at the small kiosk-like building under the bus stop sign.
