Don't use Tangtu Maps, use Google instead. I just came from Christchurch yesterday and the roads that were damaged in last year's earthquake haven't been repaired yet. Tangtu hasn't been updated. We drove for a long time on mountain roads to get to Kaikoura, which was two hours longer than the normal route. If we had used Google from the beginning, we would only have needed to drive an extra hour.
