What's the recommended duration to visit both upper and lower lakes of Plitvice Lakes National Park if we plan to go there in one day? We are planning to enter the park at around 9am ?

Leave a whole day. We rushed to go up and down the lake for four hours when we went.
If you hike round trip to the upper lake and take a boat round trip to the lower lake, it will take 6 hours. If you take a car to the upper lake and hike down, it will take 5 hours. Sixteen Lakes is currently restricted to a daily limit of 12,000 visitors. If you have a set time, it is recommended to buy tickets online as there are huge crowds and the risk of not being able to buy tickets on site. It is recommended to enter from Gate 1, visit the lower lake first, and then hurry to the pier to take a boat (this is the most time-consuming part), as it can be a disaster if you run into several tour groups. Then take a car to the upper lake, slowly walk down, and return to the parking lot at Gate 1. The lower lake is mainly for viewing the waterfall, which is best seen in the morning with the sunlight, as it will be backlit in the afternoon.
One day is enough.
