We just came back from there, personally feel that only three days is very tight, we used seven days, two days in Banff, two days in Golden, two days in Jasper, Banff can be visited in about half a day, but no matter how, it will not be early in the morning from outside to Banff, so personally feel at least one day. It takes more than five hours from Banff to Jasper, whether driving or taking a car, and it is all scenic spots along the way. It takes about eight hours to drive and stop. Jasper town is just an ordinary European-style town, and it is difficult to book a room in the town. Generally, you can only book a youth hostel seven or eight kilometers away from the town, with dozens of people in one room, which may be inconvenient if there are small children. Your three days are definitely not enough, I suggest arranging one day in Banff, and the other two days just stroll around the shores of Lake Louise.
