ztl is basically 24-hour restrictions, the best way is to park outside the ztl, walk in, Italian cities are small, attractions are also concentrated, walking or taking the bus is very convenient.

ZTL is the general term for restricted traffic areas. There are central urban restricted areas that limit traffic flow (similar to Milan's C restricted area), restricted areas to protect historical and cultural landmarks, and special restricted areas for emission reduction and environmental protection (similar to Milan's B restricted area). Generally, rental car companies provide relatively new vehicles. If the car's gasoline Euro standard is 4, then there is no need to consider environmental restrictions, only the central urban restricted area and landmark restricted area need to be considered. Similar to Milan, only the C area needs to be considered. Personally, it is felt that instead of studying the complex ZTL or how to buy a pass, it is more reasonable to park the car in a parking lot outside the restricted area, walk, or take public transportation to the landmarks. Rome has studied the regulations of the Rome transportation network and based on the experiences of many drivers, there are no 1-day or 7-day passes similar to Milan's C area available for purchase, except for purchasing an annual pass and driving an electric car. Therefore, taking public transportation is the best choice for touring Rome.
