I booked a homestay six months in advance, two rooms, a little over 1000 per day
4 months early, very expensive
I booked my flight 7 months in advance this year, and as soon as I booked my flight, I booked a room, with a wide range of choices.

Found. Not going! I also have to fly to Yellowknife to see the aurora.
The RV I rent, wherever I go, that's where I stay.
The earlier, the better Book a hotel that can be cancelled for free, check later and grab the cheap ones as soon as they appear, and then cancel the original one for free

Book early, book what can be cancelled for free, in case of itinerary changes.
