Before driving to the gas station, remember the pump number. When you go inside, tell the cashier the pump number and how much you want to put in (estimate the amount, you can overestimate and get a refund if you don't use it all). The cashier will give you a receipt, some may not give it to you automatically, you can ask for it. Then go to the gas pump, insert the nozzle into the tank, and select the type of gas and press the button (we usually choose 87). The gas will start pumping, and when it's done, hang up the nozzle. Keep an eye on the display to see if you've used all the money. If you haven't, go back to the cashier to get a refund, just tell them the pump number.
