When you rent a car, ask the rental company if they provide E-Pess or i-Pess devices. If they do, check the box on the front and rearview mirrors after getting in the car, pull it open, and you will be in automatic payment mode. When returning the car, go through the E-Pess or i-Pess channel. Finally, settle the bill with the rental company. If they don't provide these devices, go through the CASH channel and pay in cash.

The car from Hertz has E-pass, but I didn't use it and went through the cash channel. It is said that E-pass has a rent of 5 US dollars, if you are not a frequent fee payer and can accept queuing for payment (at times the queue is quite long), then you can choose not to rent E-pass.
