Seems like there's only one way. I'll arrive in Calgary in the afternoon, rent a car, go shopping at Walmart, hit the road, and stay at Canmore.

From Calgary to Banff, you usually take Highway 1, after all, 1A is not a high-speed, too slow. From Banff to Lake Louise, you can take 1A to see if you are lucky enough to meet wildlife. But I didn't see them on my two trips, and I finally saw Elk in Jasper.
