Is it strict to bring some commonly used medicines when taking children to Australia? Do I need to list them one by one ?

Not so detailed, I also brought some cold medicine, it's no problem to declare a small amount. Just write "no" in the prohibited items column on the entry card.

You can just declare on the normal entry card and go through the declaration channel. Generally, just tell the customs officer that it is a common medicine, and that's it. My child has a cold and I also brought some Chinese herbal medicine, which is all fine. But you must declare it.

Melbourne's checks are not strict.
