Zakynthos has parking lots along the roadside in areas outside of the towns. The two main towns, Ios and Fira, both have public parking, which is free. Small cars are easy to park. I highly recommend renting an off-road vehicle. The island is small, so it only takes about an hour to drive an off-road vehicle from the southernmost lighthouse to the northernmost town of Ios. Sedans are even faster.
