The No.1 Highway is closed. If it gets worse, it's said to take 2 years to fix ☹☹☹. I had to turn back and take the 101.

We drove before the New Year, starting from Monterey and heading south. The road was closed at the Big Sur primitive forest, so we turned north and drove on CA1 to Big Sur. Due to rain, the second half of Big Sur was closed, so we returned north, took CA68, then CA101, and finally CA46 to reach Cambria and check into a hotel. The next day, we drove back and visited the elephant seal beach, then headed south to Carmel, Santa Barbara, and Los Angeles. The inland scenery was also very nice. Is the entire Highway 1 closed now?
