Yes, self-service gas stations must have a chip on the credit card. Pal N Save's supermarket is a self-service gas station, while other supermarkets' corresponding gas stations can use magnetic stripe credit cards and cash.

If you need to fill up your car, you must have a chip card and either a VISA or a Mastercard. Magnetic stripe cards are not accepted at self-service gas stations. We've tried it at our gas station and it doesn't work. Other stores might accept magnetic stripe cards.
