Hello everyone, we plan to self-drive near Banff from October 2 to 4. I would like to ask: 1) Can we park on the side of the road anywhere we want? 2) Can we go back and forth from Canmore to Jasper on the same day? The main purpose is to see the scenic views along the Icefields Parkway. Thank you ?

Kananaskis to Banff is less than 30 minutes, driving from Banff to Jasper without stopping takes about 5-6 hours, and the Icefield Center is between the two.
