I'm not used to the frequent changes of speed limit signs in Germany. After driving at 120km/h for a while, suddenly there's a sign indicating 80km/h. It's uncomfortable to brake hard, and the car behind me must have cursed me to death. So I had to slow down gradually afterwards, but in fact I had already entered the speed limit for some time. I'm not sure what the design of this kind of speed limit is for in Germany ?

In fact, Germany never has a speed limit or removes the speed limit without reason. It may be because the road ahead becomes narrower, or the bend is sharp, or the road is under construction. You just need to drive according to the speed limit sign. Once you see the sign indicating the removal of the speed limit, it means that there is no speed limit and you can go all out...
Generally, slowing down is possible due to road repairs, reducing from three lanes to two, entering a merging area, or approaching a service area.
There are usually speed limits at on-ramps and intersections.
