Just wondering if any friends who have driven in Italy before. If you drive a B-class car like Passat, is parking not very convenient in Italy? It feels like there are small cars everywhere and parking spaces are not very large ?

Not convenient. If your car mainly goes to outer attractions and will not stop and go in the city or on the roadside, maybe consider a larger car. If there are not many people, just two people or with a child, I highly recommend the Fiat 500 or 500L. Consider the various hill towns in the Tuscany region, when driving on mountain roads you will deeply regret the large car. My original route was similar. In 2016, I went from Germany to Switzerland and stayed in Milan for two days, but the car was only parked in the hotel and used the subway to go into the city. Then I drove around Germany, went to the Maine River area for a walk, and retreated from Frankfurt. To go from Switzerland to Italy, you still need a car to take the train.
