My husband and I are not good at English, we can only speak a few words. We want to self-drive in Italy, but we have heard that there are many ZLT areas in Italy, and the fines are very severe. Is it suitable for us to self-drive in this situation ?

Italians don't speak English well either. Many older people don't speak it at all. Just make sure you understand the traffic signs. Remember to yield to pedestrians. You must yield to cars if you don't have the right of way. Yield to cars in roundabouts before proceeding. Also, look at the traffic lights when turning right. Don't park illegally. As for prohibitions, think about it. It's similar to China. Every city has those landmark buildings.
