On the Big Island, if it's at the 76 gas station, you can use a Visa card. If it's at other gas stations, just go in with cash or a card and tell them you want to fill up. Then tell them which pump number, they'll handle it, and you can just add fuel directly. Generally, you pump the fuel yourself. If you don't know, just go in and ask.
