Can you tell me if the car dealership has deducted a large sum of money from me as a deposit, and whether they will refund part of it after the damage is assessed? Is this the process? Will insurance claims be affected by this?

Bought but did not have an accident. The car dealership will ask if you want to buy additional insurance. If you buy it, just tell them you don't need it anymore because you've already bought third-party insurance.
