I saw a post before, saying that cars from outside cannot enter the city of Taormina. Is it true for friends who have been to Sicily ?

Many old towns in Italian cities have ZTL controlled areas, only local vehicles can enter. It's best to check online in advance. If you see the ZTL sign during driving, don't break the restriction. This is what I took in Siena. It is said that if you buy some kind of pass, you can go, or you can try to make up for it if you accidentally break in. But I didn't dare to try. I always choose to avoid ZTL.
