I just went through customs a few days ago. I transferred in San Francisco from Hong Kong, and I carried more than ten boxes of instant noodles and more than ten bags of pickled vegetables. They were all checked in directly to San Francisco from Chongqing without declaration. US customs didn't check at all because we went through customs first and then picked up our luggage. After picking up our luggage, we seemed to have left the airport directly.
