As a female, I am planning to drive from Christchurch to Queenstown. Has anyone ever driven this route before? How long does it take, and is it safe ?

Check the map. Actually, there's no need to be too afraid. Just drive slowly.

We drove, from Christchurch to Tekapo, from Tekapo to Wanaka, and then to Queenstown, in three days, playing and walking. Among them, from Wanaka to Queenstown is a mountain road, with more bends, you need to have several years of driving experience.

Your route seems to be the same as mine. Are you alone?

Excuse me, can anyone tell me if the north shore of the town of Fox is closed from Bremerhaven?

On the way from Christchurch to Tekapo Lake, there are more bends and the wind is strong in the mountains, so you can't go too fast, which is very tiring. After Tekapo, it's much easier to get to Queenstown, which is a large plain. There are national parks around Tekapo, so there are few people. I suggest that you don't stay at a guesthouse alone, as girls may be afraid. Last year, the two of us stayed at a guesthouse, and there were few people within a few kilometers around us at night, but the view of the stars was great.

For six and a half hours, the two of us started at 4 p.m. and finished at 10 p.m. We happened to meet rain, but we were not tired. If one person suggests starting in the morning, we can have a rest during lunch time.

A girl... still not very stable, always on a long and lonely road.
