Excuse me, do you pay by credit card or in cash when refueling ?

Try to use cash to prevent the risk of card fraud.

PetrolCanada in Canada can accept credit cards without chips, which I have tried at the Vancouver airport. My card is from Guangfa Bank.

Thanks, can American credit cards be used directly in Canada?

Unleaded gasoline is OK, credit card or cash. US credit cards need to enter zip code, not very convenient. In Canada, it's basically no problem. Some gas stations only recognize chip cards.

I paid in cash, parked in front of several gas pumps, got out of the car and went into the store to tell them which pump I wanted and how much gas I needed, and then got a refund after filling up. Whatever you do, don't pay first and then switch pumps. The first time I didn't park close enough, so I paid and then realized the pump wasn't long enough, and had to switch to a different one, leaving the attendant speechless.

Both are OK. Generally, it's more convenient to use a credit card.
