There are some scary things said online about it, and they say you need to have a few spare tires. The road conditions are said to be very bad. Can any of my brothers and sisters who have been there recently speak up about the situation? Thank you ?

In my personal feeling, the challenge of driving on Dantan Highway in winter is too big. The main problems are the lack of filling stations on the road, the low speed of the car, the lack of signals on the road, and the long waiting time for rescue in case of accidents. People may be frozen to death.

No so scary at all. I went there in January of the lunar new year. Apart from minus 50 degrees Celsius, everything was fine. Of course, the ground was definitely compacted ice, a little slippery, but you would soon get used to it. There are many maintenance stations along the Dalton Highway, which are responsible for ensuring the safety of the oil pipeline and the highway, and they will clear the snow on the highway. At least I didn't feel that the road conditions were bad when I drove to Coldfoot 150 kilometers north. I highly recommend that you drive to Deadhorse if you have the opportunity. When you leave the snow mountain and look out, you will be particularly shocked by the white snow and the white sky.
