Is it necessary to buy bear spray when going to Yellowstone and Grand Teton ?

The safest place is in the car, the car will run
While driving along the regular 8-shaped route, I didn't see anything I wanted to see. I only saw bison, elk, and wolves. A lot of people were gathered around watching, and I'm not sure which animal was more scared.
That's for hikers.
If you hike a long way, buy one and take a look occasionally. I don't think it's necessary, nor is it cheap. It's 50 dollars each, and you'll have to throw it away if you don't use it.
We have seen baby bears near the Upper Falls in Yellowstone Canyon. They were seen in the woods not far from the parking lot. The baby bears came out of the woods, saw people, and ran back into the woods.
