The Icelandic Króna can be exchanged for Euros or US dollars at the airport. It's a good idea to have some on hand, as most places accept credit cards and cash is also accepted. Some toilets still require coins and no one will give you change.

Just use the card. Prepare some euros and dollars for emergencies. As for Icelandic króna, I haven't even seen its shadow.
