It is the dream of many new and old Malaysian people to drive their own car from the Malay Peninsula to Langkawi, but it has not been realized so far. In principle, it is possible to transport the car to the island by ferry from Perlis, but considering the freight and the time it takes to transport the car to the island (usually one day), it is a bit unnecessary. Besides, Perlis is close to the Thai border, which is too far away. It is better to directly fly to Langkawi and rent a car for Road trip.
