I would like to ask: when renting a car in Germany and returning it to the original location, will there be a cross-border fee if I travel to Austria, Switzerland, or the Netherlands? Different companies have different policies. The last time I rented a car from Avis or Budget, there were no additional charges. The exact amount will need to be confirmed at the counter.

Never seen charging by the piece. I remember the shortest is 7 days, and then charged by month, quarter, and year.
