San Francisco is safe throughout the day, not as chaotic as some people say. Just don't go to the black neighborhood, it's pretty safe. Do you mean Union Square is chaotic? There are so many people around Union Square. I've been walking around there at 11, 12 o'clock at night for how many times, I don't even know.
