The way from Phillip Island to Great Ocean Road via Mornington Peninsula and then taking a ferry to shore is not recommended, it will take about 2 hours more than the land route, more than 100 Australian dollars in ferry fees, and some car rental companies do not allow their vehicles to take the ferry, and are not compensated in case of accidents.
