Charging Standard: Most highways in New Zealand are toll-free, with only 3 toll roads currently located on the North Island. The one-way toll rates are as follows: 1. Northern Gateway Toll Road: Motorcycles/cars NZD 2.20, trucks NZD 4.40; 2. Tauranga Eastern Link Toll Road: Motorcycles/cars NZD 2.00, trucks NZD 5.00; 3. Takitimu Drive Toll Road: Motorcycles/cars NZD 1.80, trucks NZD 4.80. Payment Instructions: 1. Online Payment: Log on to the New Zealand Transport Agency website and use Visa/Mastercard/POLI for online toll payment. Payment can be made in advance before travel or within 5 days after passing through. 2. Point-of-Sale Payment: Pay tolls at designated Caltex or BP gas stations, supporting cash/credit card/POLI, with a handling fee of NZD1.20 per transaction. Note: If tolls are not paid within 5 days, the transport agency will issue a reminder notice and an additional NZD4.90 management fee will be charged on top of the tolls due. If payment is still not made within 28 days, the transport agency will issue an additional fine of NZD40.
