Take County Road 63 to County Road 64. All three roads lead there. There are several great camp sites close to the Atlantic Road. You can arrange accommodation for one night. The scenery is fantastic when the weather is fine. If you go directly from Geiranger to Trondheim in one day, it will be a bit rushed.

No stopping, it's too tight. We went straight from Preikestolen to Flom, stayed in a fjord town for one night in the middle, and the scenery along the way from Oslo to Stavanger is great.
