A bit warmer than Melbourne, but I think you still need a thin down jacket in August, it's quite cold in the morning and evening.

It's been very cold in Sydney recently. I'm wearing a thin down jacket over a coat and scarf, which is even colder than the Great Ocean Road. I'm not sure about the weather forecast for the next few days, so I'll keep an eye on it.
