Zanhuang Chessboard Mountain is located in Lígōu, western section of Zanhuang County. It belongs to the eastern foothills of the middle section of Taihang Mountains. The main gorge of the scenic area, Lígōu, is named after the Chessboard Mountain due to its abrupt and towering appearance. The highest peak, Wòtuó Peak, is a group of peaks, with its main peak being Sìxiāng gōngzhài, at an elevation of 1342.3 meters. Chessboard Mountain not only has beautiful scenery, but also a pleasant climate, with an average temperature of 22.3 degrees Celsius in the hottest month. It is an ideal place to escape the summer heat. The Chessboard Mountain scenic area is charming and elegant, with its main themes being the sound of pine trees, apricot rain, ancient paths, and unique peaks. The Eight Great Scenic Spots include Locking Clouds and Green Waves, Apricot Blossoms Competing for Splendor, Eight Immortals in Formation, Ancient Pass at Duanling, Chessboard Fairy Landmarks, Perilous Cliff Hidden Peaks, Camel-shaped Clouds and, Green Valley with the Sound of Pines. The Chessboard Mountain is mainly composed of "Jiangshi Yan" landforms, with the top being made of red quartz sandstone, such as Baxian Ridge, Chessboard Peak, Lion Peak, Camel Peak, and Buddha Peak. The cliff walls and terraced mountain bodies can be seen. The middle part is composed of metamorphic rocks, and the bottom is made of green-gray rocks. The entire scenic area is divided into four small areas: Xinghuayu, Chessboard Mountain, Wotuofeng, and Baxian Ridge, with more than 110 scenic spots distributed within. Each step reveals a different scene, gradually entering a beautiful realm. The entire scenic area includes ten gorges and nine forks, such as Duanling Gou, Nanduan Gou, Beiduan Gou, Shuǐlǔ Gou, Huāchē Gou, Shímén Gou, and Yángdào Gou. It also includes thirty-six peaks, such as Lianhua Peak, Camel Peak, Baxian Ridge, Buddha Peak, Yùsùn Peak, Jiangjun Peak, Chessboard Peak, East Fort Peak, and West Fort Peak. There are also twenty-four cliffs, such as Copper Wall and Iron Wall Cliff, Treasure Bottle Cliff, Luohan Cliff, Holy Water Cliff, and Dragon King Cliff. In addition, there are twelve caves, including Sìxiānggōng Dòng, Guānyīn Dòng, Língyún Dòng, Qiūlóng Dòng, and Tāo Yīn Dòng. Some of these landforms are majestic and spectacular, some are lifelike, some are vivid, and some are deep and unfathomable, creating a tranquil and fairy-like environment.

Doujiazhai Scenic Area is located in Xuting Township, Zanhuang County. It is known for its majestic peaks, clear pools, secluded canyons, and unique rocks. The area is also famous for its four wonders including Doujiazhai, Kaokao Circle, Daoma Hong, and Jiande Lake. There are over 500 species of plants, including native shrubs and tall mountain fruit trees. The scenic area features various water landscapes such as the "Fourteen Peak Summit," "Mountain Top Divine Spring," and "Jiande Lake." Stone buildings like stone houses, stone paths, and stone mills form the exquisite pattern of the rural gardens. It has historical significance as the location of the "Xuting Victory" battle during Han General Han Xin's Water Battle and as the place where the famous rebel leader Dou Jiande stationed his troops during the turbulent Sui and Tang dynasties. In May, rhododendrons bloom, and in July, the scent of flowers fills the air. The mountain peaks are nestled in the sea of clouds, and mist swirls in the wind. The beauty of sunrise and sunset, morning dew and evening glow, Buddha's light mirage, flowing streams, and countless other sceneries are all captivating.
