Introduction

US currency has almost always been manufactured in the United States since its founding. If you see a small letter "P" to the right of the head on the obverse side of a coin, it means that the coin was minted in Philadelphia. The production line and historical artifacts of the Philadelphia Mint can be freely visited by the public for free, but please note that you cannot bring bags or dangerous items into the Mint, and you will need to pass through security for the visit.
