Introduction

Copley Square is a highly acclaimed public square located in Boston's Back Bay area. The square is home to three famous buildings: Trinity Church, the John Hancock Tower, and the Boston Public Library, all of which have international reputations. The John Hancock Tower sits on the south side of the square and is an outstanding building designed by famous Chinese-American architect I. M. Pei and Henry N. Cobb, inspired by the Palace of Versailles in France. The building is covered with blue glass panels and is one of the tallest buildings in Boston. The Boston Public Library sits at the other end of the square and was built in 1895. It is still open to the public today.
