Introduction

The Freer Gallery of Art is known for having a large collection of Asian art, and is the largest museum in the US for research on Asian art, affiliated with the Smithsonian Institution. The museum's collection includes art from East Asia, South Asia, the Mediterranean, Southeast Asia, and the Arab world, as well as a small number of ancient Egyptian and American artworks. In addition, the Sublevel 1 is connected to the Sackler Museum, located behind the Smithsonian Castle, and is less than a 5-minute walk away.

Transportation
Take the Blue Line or Orange Line to Smithsonian station, and exit via the National Mall Exit. Walk east (away from the Washington Monument) for 2 minutes to arrive at the Freer Gallery of Art.
