The Washington Monument is located in the center of the National Mall and stands at 169 meters tall, dedicated to honoring the first U.S. President, George Washington. Its exterior is simple with no inscriptions, yet the interior walls are engraved with 188 memorial stones from around the world, including one in Chinese sourced from scholar Xu Jialu's "Brief Annals of the World." Visitors can take an elevator to reach the top of the Washington Monument and look out upon the entire city of Washington, D.C. through 8 observation windows.
