Introduction

St. Martin's Church, located in the Birmingham area, is a historic Gothic architecture building that dates back to the 12th century. In the late 19th century, Mr. Alfred Chatwin was involved in designing the present-day red brick style church, who was also the designer of London's Parliament House. The most precious treasure in the church is a large stained glass window created by the famous artist Edward Burne-Jones. It is said that on April 10th, 1941, the Bishop of Birmingham at the time ordered the emergency removal of this large stained glass window, and shortly after, the church became a victim of German bombing. Today, St. Martin's Church is adjacent to the modern Bullring shopping center, yet these two completely different architectural styles blend together perfectly, creating a unique visual effect.
