Introduction

Greyfriars Church is a 17th century church that is open to the public on weekends and is located near a cemetery where many Scottish celebrities are buried. The area surrounding the church is a peaceful cemetery with a beautiful Greyfriars Bobby statue outside, which was carved according to legend to commemorate Bobby, a little dog who kept watch over his owner's grave for 14 years after his death. Interestingly, Bobby's story was later adapted into a movie. In 2012, the Scottish Tourist Board rated Greyfriars Church as a four-star attraction.
